Part of having a plan is practicing it and that includes growing your own food. If we go “Captain Caveman” you’re going to need to know how to start and keep a garden. This book is a good reference and contains information and advice on soil types, rotation plans, climate considerations and small scale (balcony) gardening. And that’s just the first few chapters. After that comes hundreds of pages on just about every vegetable you can imagine detailing planting, sowing, care and harvesting including the seasons you do each. Another out-of-print book but you can find it for cheap (used) on Amazon.
